B.Sc. Nursing (4 year Degree Course)


The aim of the undergraduate nursing programme is to :-
- Prepare graduate to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services.

- Prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in en situations, protect the right of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manager in a clinical/public health nursing.

OBJECTIVE:
- Effective application of nursing knowledge that is rich in physical, biological, medicinal as well as behavioral sciences in providing very prolific nursing services to individuals, families and communities.

- Smooth and scientific demonstration of services, leadership and managerial skills in clinical and community health settings.

- Proper utilization of the programmed Health cares and facilities through excellent managerial skills, technologies and dynamism.

P.C. B.Sc. Nusing (2 year Degree Course)
The college also offers a 2 year Post Basic Nursing Programme for those candidates who have completed their Diploma Nursing Programme.

At Post-Basic level, Nursing is a board based education, which builds upon the skills and competencies acquired at diploma level. It is specifically directed for upgrading of their critical thinking skills, competencies and standards required for practice of professional Nursing.

They will prepare themselves to act as a teacher and demonstrate themselves as a role model and create learning environment for the students.

M.Sc. Nursing (2 years Post-Graduate Course)

National Health Policy (NHP) 2002 emphasizes the need of prepare nurses to function in super-specialit areas who are required in tertiary care institutions, entrusting some limited public health functions to nurses after providing adequate training, and increase the ratio of degree holding vis a vis diploma holding nurses.

It is observed that there is an acute shortage of nursing faculty in under graduate and postgraduate nursing programme in India.

Post Graduate programme is essential to prepare nurses to improve the quality of nursing education and practice in India.

Post Graduate programme in nursing builds upon and extends competence acquired at the graduate level, emphasizes application of relevant theories into nursing practice, education, administration and development of research skills.

The programme prepares nurses for leadership position in nursing and health fields who can function as nurse specialists, consultants, educators, administrators and researchers in a wide variety of professionals settings in meeting the National priorities and the changing needs of the society.

The programme provides the basis for the post masteral programme in nursing. Further the programme encourages accountability and commitment of life long learning which fosters improvement of quality care.
